March is here and that means crazy scheduling for our reading class. During the next few weeks, we will only have class on:
- Monday, March 10
- Friday, March 14
- Tuesday-Friday, March 25-28
What does this mean for you?
- No Read and Responds - March 14 and 20
- No practice probes assigned
However, because there is only ONE Book Share due this ENTIRE month, you really need to READ, READ, READ during your "down time." No split books...read one whole book! Remember, you are still responsible for your TWELVE ACCELERATED READER POINTS.
Important March dates:
- March Madness Book Share - project AND summary - DUE March 27.
- Last day of this grading period - Thursday, March 27
- If your Book Share is late, it will be a ZERO in your grade average.
- March 31 - last day for AR goal - 12 points
Here's a question for you...
What book are you reading this month? What's your favorite part so far?

So, I started to read another book. It's about a boy, taken from his village, and delivered to a school for wizardry. While there, he makes friends and learns charms and spells. He also makes an enemy; a boy his about age, who is jealous of his abilities.
Sound familiar??? Oddly enough, THIS book was written in 1952, the year I was born - so you know it's old!. My book is A Wizard of Earthsea, by Ursula K. LeGuin.
Interesting, huh?

Hey Mrs.Alsobrook this is really cool ;)!
Anyway I'm reading Peter & the Starcathers. So far (I'm only on pg. 41) my favorite part is when Peter meets Molly. Can't wait for the book report to tell everyone about it!

Hey whats up ya'll.
My book that im reading is Eragon. So far its an awesome book, its about a young boy hatched a dragon and now he plans on getting revenge on the evil. Well my favorite part so far is when an old man and Eragon were practice sword-fighting with sticks. The old man smacked him in the head so hard with the stick he got paralyzed.
When he woke up he thought his dragon was growling to protect him but he was actualy laughting at him :)
Also what is the probe number for this weekend? Sam

Very nice blog that you have here Mrs. Alsobrook. It is an honor to work with you. :)
I am reading 100 Days of Monsters by Stefan G. Bucher. It just came out last week. I started reading Mr.Bucher's blog several month's ago and have become a big fan. His book is as much fun as his web site...maybe even more. And there's a dvd included that has videos of him drawing his creations. They all start from ink blots. I'll loan it to you when I'm done.
I look forward to hearing about what your class is reading.
